Eat Your Weeds! Sunday, April 26

$40.00

Our neighborhoods are full of wild, edible surprises—we just need to get to know them!

Join us for this 3-hour adventure starting at Thrive Yoga & Wellness and making a roundtrip to Water Board Park. We'll meet the bold, unstoppable weeds thriving in sidewalks, alleys, and green spaces—thrusting their gifts of nutrition and wellness toward us, whether we notice or not.

You'll learn safe identification while practicing honorable harvest principles (yes, even with abundant urban plants!). Packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, these assertive plants are nutrient-dense food and medicine. We can never predict exactly what we'll find—only that we'll discover something delicious and useful.

After our 2-mile forage, we'll return to Thrive's kitchen to wash, prepare, and taste our finds. Depending on what we find, we’ll make a salad, a bean dish, and possibly a tea (all of which are naturally vegan, free of gluten and dairy).

What to expect: Be ready for 2+ miles of urban strolling with an incline and plenty of bending to examine plants. Wear sturdy, water-resistant shoes, layers (including for rain) and bring sun protection and water—we'll provide gathering containers and kitchen equipment.
